The UNMC Bioinformatics and Molecular Modeling Core Facility provides UNMC researchers with the computational and informational tools for intensive searching and processing the structural and functional information on biomedical systems.
AREA OF EXPERTISE:
   MOLECULAR MODELING:
protein structure/property prediction and analysis;
homology modeling of proteins;
molecular docking;
molecular dynamics simulations;
QSAR analysis;
antigenic epitope prediction
   DATA AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT:
database searching and data retrieval;
statistical analyses of DNA array data;
creation of DNA microarray relational databases;
development of databases on structural and functional information in biologically-important molecules;
development of disease-oriented databases, data warehouses and web-based applications
The staff of the facility consults users in utilizing bioinformatics and molecular modeling tools and methods, participates in collaborative research, and is actively involved in teaching molecular modeling and bioinformatics courses.
